Evidence base

This represents the existing knowledge-base regarding: what nurses / healthcare practitioners need to know and appropriate pedagogical approaches. The evidence-base results from:

  1. Literature reviews: (i) What nurses need to know about sustainability; (ii) What pedagogic approaches are used to embed sustainability in curricula in nursing or higher education?[1]
  2. Curriculum Scoping: to identify areas where sustainability is embedded and possibility of integrating sustainability topics[2]
  3. Delphi study of nurse education ‘experts’[3]
  4. Student engagement[4]

These activities resulted in a prioritised list of topics for sustainability and nursing / healthcare.

    1. Interim Report August 2015: Evidence-based resource on sustainability, climate change and health
